Shawn McGorry serves as the Chairman of Expedient with more than 40 years of experience in the telecommunications and information technology industries. Prior to taking on the role of Chairman, Shawn served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company and successfully transitioned Expedient from a boutique, local Internet Service Provider (ISP) with one colocation facility, to a nationwide managed cloud service provider with 15 data centers in 10 different cities.
He orchestrated the sale of Expedient to Landmark Media Enterprises in 2005, which provided capital support to deliver exponential business growth and market expansion during a 14-year run. In 2019, he facilitated the transition of the business to AMP Capital (now InfraBridge), which acquired the firm as part of their global digital infrastructure portfolio. Today, Expedient is recognized as one of the nation’s top providers of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS).
Before joining Expedient in December of 2003, he spent 6 years as Vice President and COO of Stargate.net, Inc. Shawn helped build Stargate from startup phase to one of the nation’s Top 20 Commercial Internet Service Providers in less than 5 years. Stargate earned dozens of industry accolades, including recognition as the nation’s fastest growing Inner-City Company, by INC Magazine. Prior to entering the Internet industry, Shawn spent 16 years with TeleCommunications Inc. (TCI), which became AT&T Broadband in 1999 and then sold to Comcast Communications in 2002. During his cable industry tenure, Shawn held many positions including General Manager for TCI of Western Pennsylvania, TCI’s largest single operating unit, and at that time, the nation’s largest consolidated cable television system. In 1996, he was honored as “System Operator of the Year,” by the Pennsylvania Cable and Telecommunications Association. Shawn is a 1980 Graduate of Clarion State University with a B.S. in Business Marketing/Management. He also earned an MBA, from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh with an emphasis on Finance.
Shawn has been married to his wife Jeanne for 38 years and they have 2 adult children.
Bryan Smith serves as Chief Executive Officer at Expedient and brings more than 25 years of experience in the Telecommunications and Technology industries to his role. Prior to taking on the role of CEO, Bryan served as SVP and Chief Strategy Officer of Expedient overseeing strategic growth planning, product design, marketing, and business development for Expedient. Bryan was one of the initial employees of Expedient in 2001 and has been instrumental in identifying expansion/acquisition opportunities. He has been involved at every stage of Expedient’s growth from the initial start as a fixed-wireless Internet Service Provider (ISP) to a leading data center and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider. In 2013, he was honored as one of the Top 20 People to Know in Technology by Business First. Bryan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Baldwin Wallace College and an Executive MBA from The Ohio State University.
Jon Rosenson serves as President & Chief Operating Officer, prior to which he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Expedient. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the telecommunications and information technology industries and, in his current role, ensures an aligned team effort in the planning and execution of operational functions and strategic business objectives. Jon has also overseen the company’s 24x7x365 support center operations, service delivery, information systems, technical recruiting, IT compliance and marketing messaging functions.
Prior to joining Expedient, Jon was a founding employee and director at Stargate.net, Inc. in 1994, where he had responsibility for the integration activities associated with acquired companies, including day-to-day general management. Jon is chair of the board at WQED Multimedia, the PBS affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA; board member of the Marcus L. Ruscitto Charitable Foundation; and member of the VMware executive partner advisory board. He is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh’s Leadership Development Initiative VII (1999). In November 2001, he was recognized as one of Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 under 40 for his professional and philanthropic contributions to the community. Jon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in rhetorical criticism from the University of Pittsburgh. Along with his wife and daughter, Jon lives in the City of Pittsburgh.
Ken Hill has more than 40 years of experience in the telecommunications and information technology industry that led him to his position as Chief Technology Officer. Ken has demonstrated throughout his career the ability to manage a broad spectrum of technical environments, including data center engineering, operations, and cloud solutions. Before joining Expedient, Ken was Senior VP of Operations with Stargate, a regional Internet Service Provider (ISP) with more than 400 employees. Prior to joining Stargate, Ken was the Executive Director of U.S. Operations for RSL Com, a global provider of voice and data services. His experience includes employment with Westinghouse Electric Corporation where he received the General Manager’s Award, which is earned by less than one percent of all employees within the corporation. Ken also spent several years with Fujitsu Business Communications Systems and General Telephone and Electronics (GTE). Ken holds a bachelor’s degree in professional studies from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Ken is married and has four children.
Chris Berk serves as Chief Information Officer at Expedient. He has nearly 30 years of information technology and leadership experience. As CIO, Chris serves as a member of Expedient’s senior leadership team focused on maintaining information systems and processes that enable reliable IT infrastructure and positive client experiences. Additionally, he leads security operations, audit, risk, and compliance functions helping ensure Expedient supports clients' security and compliance needs. Prior to joining Expedient, Chris was CIO of Covetrus, where he served as a member of the executive leadership team and led enterprise infrastructure, business systems, and application development. Additionally, Chris led IT efforts for M&A activities, including Covetrus’ IPO, and major global supply chain technology initiatives. Prior to his position at Covetrus, Chris held various technology leadership roles—including CTO, CIO, and Enterprise Program Management—across several industries, including health care and digital marketing. Chris is a founding (and 10-year) member of the Columbus CIO Forum and has served as a guest lecturer for the Central Ohio IT Leadership Development Program. He also served as both a judge and steering committee member for the TechColumbus Innovation Awards. Chris earned both an undergraduate degree in management information systems and an MBA from the The Ohio State University. Chris and his wife reside in Columbus, Ohio along with their two rescue dogs. They also have two adult children, a daughter and a son.
Steve Harrell brings 35 years of accounting, financial planning, corporate development, and strategic management experience to his role as Chief Financial Officer. Joining Expedient in 2009, Steve is responsible for the accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, procurement, and compliance functions. Before joining Expedient, he was Managing Director of Kennerdell Capital Partners LLC, a mid-market private investment firm focused on manufacturing and technology investments. Prior to this Steve was CFO and VP of Operations for Akustica, a venture backed commercial sensor company purchased by Robert Bosch GmbH. From 1993-2003, Steve was employed by Texas Instruments, Inc. in a variety of financial and operations management positions within their semiconductor division. Steve began his career in the Washington, DC office of KPMG Peat Marwick where he consulted for government agencies and defense contractors. He has an MBA in Finance and Operations Management from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh and a BS in Economics from Radford University. He was named a CFO of the Year in 2016 by the Pittsburgh Business Times.
Dennis serves as the Chief Revenue Officer at Expedient, leading all direct, indirect, and partner sales activities, along with revenue operations. Prior to taking on the role of Chief Revenue Officer, Dennis served as Senior Vice President of Sales at Expedient. He is a highly accomplished technology solutions sales leader with over 30 years of sales, sales leadership, and customer success experience with a focus on Cloud, Data Center, IaaS, Disaster Recovery, Backup, Managed Services, and Professional Services across all verticals in both the enterprise and mid-market space. Dennis has a proven track record of success in providing strategic direction, visionary sales leadership, and execution, and is passionate about building and developing high-performing sales teams and a winning culture. Prior to Expedient, he held senior sales and sales leadership roles at Flexential, Sungard Availability Services, and IBM. Dennis attended Bucknell University and New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Tim brings over 30 years of experience in high-tech marketing. As the Chief Marketing Officer at Expedient, he brings a blend of technical and marketing expertise, skills, and experiences. Tim has held executive, senior marketing, and technical roles at top technology companies, including IBM, IBM Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Iron Mountain, Agfa Healthcare, and venture-backed Hyperwave. His marketing roles have spanned portfolio, demand generation, channel, SMB, industry, launch management, and product management for a wide range of cloud and software offerings. Tim has also held marketing and product management positions at other technology companies, including Computer Associates (now Broadcom), Access Technology, and Grumman Aerospace. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautics and applied mathematics from Dowling College in Oakdale, New York, and an MBA, with a concentration in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Outside of work, Tim and his wife enjoy traveling, riding their tandem bike, entertaining, and indulging in their love of music and theatre.
Molly Perenic serves as Vice President of Human Resources at Expedient. She joined Expedient in 2020 and has more than 20 years of human resources experience across multiple industries. Molly is responsible for compensation, benefits, employee relations, talent acquisition, and performance management. She partners on learning and organizational development initiatives while working closely with the senior leadership team to ensure Expedient maintains an environment where collaboration and teamwork are championed, and employees can be their best self. Molly graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. She also earned her master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Clemson University and holds PHR and SHRM-CP Certifications. She has worked as an adjunct professor at multiple local and online universities focusing on diversity, inclusion and developing employees. Molly’s favorite part of Expedient is interacting with employees and watching them evolve and develop in their careers. When not at Expedient, Molly is busy spending time with her husband and two boys.
Chris Frenie serves as Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel at Expedient and brings more than 17 years of legal experience to this role. As Chief Legal Counsel, Chris directly handles or manages legal matters ranging from contract negotiation, employment matters, M&A, litigation, and intellectual property issues. Prior to joining Expedient in 2020, he spent twelve years in legal and compliance roles with large healthcare international and domestic enterprises including Viatris and UPMC Health Plan, and four years as an associate with K&L Gates. Chris earned a Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Pennsylvania State University. Chris and his wife share three children and live in suburban Pittsburgh, Pa.
Anita Osborne serves as Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis at Expedient. She has 25 years of experience in financial planning, analytics, and accounting. Anita is responsible for financial forecasting and modeling, budgeting, management, and monitoring of the business’ key performance indicators, and provides analytical support to senior leaders across the organization. Prior to joining Expedient in 2006, Anita worked at a professional services firm specializing in financial services consulting, and in the banking industry. Anita graduated from Lynchburg College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and earned her MBA from Old Dominion University. Anita and her husband have two children and live in Virginia Beach, Va.
